About String Orchestras and Chamber

These groups offer sessions for players from grades 1 to 5, allowing them to progress alongside children of a similar standard.  Our team of tutors introduce orchestral technique and ensemble playing through exploration of different musical styles and periods. Players work on carefully graded repertoire that enables them to make rapid progress in an enjoyable way.

We offer Junior and Intermediate orchestras in Gloucester on Saturday mornings and at Dean Close Prep School in Cheltenham on Saturday afternoons.

We run a chamber music group in Cheltenham on a Saturday afternoon for players from grade 4 to grade 8+.  These sessions attract string-playing GCSE students who are keen to work on rehearsing and performing the string arrangements they have produced as coursework.

This group provides excellent progression for developing players, improving ensemble and sight-reading skills.  Chamber music sessions are led by Matt Denton from the Carducci Quartet.  There are 10 sessions each term.
