The courses we offer for schools

GAM is a key partner in Make Music Gloucestershire, our local music hub.  We work with our partners, Gloucestershire Music, Cheltenham Festivals and The Music Works to deliver a music education strategy for the county.  Our school work is subsidised by the hub. We offer a peripatetic service, with a team of instrumental and voice teachers who visit schools to give individual lessons to pupils.

The county gamelan is housed with us and we have a team of specialist gamelan tutors offering workshops to schools.

These 10 week courses are subsidised by Make Music Gloucestershire and cost £399 per term.

“Gloucestershire Academy of Music has greatly enhanced music provision in our school.”

Our teachers are highly motivated and skilled musicians with great communication skills.  They have all gone through a safer recruitment process to ensure that safeguarding and professional teaching standards are met.

GAM supplies peripatetic teachers to over 20 Gloucestershire primary and secondary schools, teaching over 250 pupils between them.  Many additional schools have enjoyed taking part in our one-off gamelan workshop programme.
