Beauchamp Early Music Course
We have just completed our glorious 2026 course at Malvern College, led by our marvellous team of tutors: David Hatcher (Musical Director), David Allinson (Choral Director), Jeremy West, Stephanie Dyer, Ann Allen and Jennie Cassidy. Full details below
Musicians eased into the mornings in their sectionals with David Allinson offering a programme of ‘Music of Longing and Lamentation’ including a selection of pieces from T.L. de Victoria, G.P. da Palestrina, C. Canis and P. de Manchicourt. Ann Allen led the woodwind, David Hatcher the strings and Jeremy West and Steph Dyer welcomed the brass players.
The days continued with a varied repertoire of music in differing size groups, both instrumental and mixed, repeated later in the week. The afternoons offered free time to enjoy the area or small informal groups arranged by attendees, or led by Jenny Cassidy.
Our evenings saw a new tutti piece led by one of the tutors, often in the College Chapel, pieces included Gabrielli – Deus Qui Beatus, Josquin Qui Habitat a24 and we finished the week before lunch on Friday with the Lechner – Quid Chaos, led by David Hatcher.
