Celebrating our 40 years of music-making with GAM alumni
A dazzling line-up of famous ex-students wowed the audience at our Celebration Concert in Pittville Pump Room on Sunday to mark the 40th anniversary of Gloucestershire Academy of Music.
World-renowned quartets Carducci and String Fever, pianist Joseph Middleton, saxophonist Lydia Kenny, folk singer Chloe Foy and guitarist Harry Fausing-Smith featured alongside a whole orchestra of professional musicians who had been trained at GAM.
Founder Caroline Lumsden and Principal Glyn Oxley compered the family afternoon concert with special guests the Lord Lieutenant of Gloucestershire Edward Gillespie, the Mayor of Cheltenham Councillor Sandra Holliday, the town’s MP Alex Chalk and GAM patron Dame Janet Trotter enjoying the eclectic programme.
