The Big String is our annual two-day orchestral project for string musicians. The project is designed for young musicians aged 5 to 18, at all levels from pre Grade 1 to post-Grade 8.

The project took place on 17-18 February 2025 at Dean Close School in Cheltenham for the first day, then moving to Gloucester Cathedral for the second day, for rehearsals followed by a performance.

The project was directed by GAM Principal Glyn Oxley and supported by tutors from Gloucestershire Academy of Music and Make Music Gloucestershire.
