Are you looking for fun, engaging music groups in Gloucester or Cheltenham for your child? Gloucestershire Academy of Music is excited to announce our Junior Music Department Open Day at Barbican House. This is set to be a music-packed Saturday morning with something for pre-schoolers to year 6.

This open day is the perfect opportunity for families to explore our music tuition in Gloucester, meet our talented tutors, and see first-hand how our Saturday classes run. Whether your child is a complete beginner or already plays an instrument, there’s something for everyone.

What to Expect

During the Open Day, you can:

•  Watch our junior music classes in action
•  Meet our expert tutors
•  Give your child a chance to have a go at making music
•  Try out an instrument before committing

We’ll have brass, string, and wind instruments available, alongside our pre-school music session, Scutterbugs.

Thinking of trying an instrument but unsure where to start? We’ll also be running “Try an Instrument” sessions with our tutors. Instruments and timings will be confirmed closer to the event. If your child already plays an instrument, they are welcome to bring it and join in the fun!

Classes Taking Part

Our Junior Music Department Saturday sessions cover a wide range of music tuition in Gloucester and include:

• 9am Scutterbugs (pre-school music)
• 9am Infant Singing & Rhythm
• 11am Junior Singing & Rhythm
• 10am String Starters
• 9:45am String Ensemble
• 12pm Junior Strings
• 11am Intermediate Strings
• 12pm Associated Board Theory
