History

The first Beauchamp Early Music Course was established shortly after founders Alan and Caroline Lumsden moved to Gloucestershire and created the Beauchamp Music Group in 1981.
The residential workshops initially began in their family home, Beauchamp House. Following the rapid growth of these early music gatherings, they officially incorporated the charity in 1982. This success laid the direct foundation for what evolved into the international summer course now overseen by The Gloucestershire Academy of Music.
In recent years the course has been held at Malvern College in Worcestershire. Enthusiasts both musicians and singers of early and renaissance music enjoy coming together with friends old and new in an intensive week making music.
