In celebration of our 40^th Anniversary, and to create a permanent home for Gloucestershire Academy of Music (GAM), we formally launched our campaign to raise £500,000 in February 2022.  The appeal was to raise the funds to purchase Barbican House and an additional amount to enable us to develop as an organisation and to cover the costs of fundraising. 

Organisational development costs were met through a generous legacy and support from the Architectural Heritage Fund.  Our successful Crowdfunding Appeal secured an additional £35,000 towards the project and was matched by a further grant from the Architectural Heritage Fund.  We are immensely grateful for further grants, the support of trusts and foundations and the generosity of individual donors.

Independent valuations have been carried out and we are now in receipt of all professional reports.  Final negotiations with our landlords, Gloucester City Council are progressing and we are at the point of finalising the detailed terms of the purchase.
