David Fletcher Bursary Fund
The David Fletcher Bursary Fund was set up in memory of the Thames Valley Early Music Forum’s late Chairman, David Fletcher.
The fund supports anyone who would find the course fees difficult to afford, not just students. For example, you may be retired or unemployed and find it difficult to meet the cost of attending the course. We treat every application confidentially.
We do not require bursary recipients to contribute to the course in return for financial support. However, we welcome any help they can offer, such as setting up the evening sessions. We also invite recipients to write a short account of their experience for Tamesis, the TVEMF newsletter. If they prefer, they can remain anonymous.
There is a subcommittee to decide who is awarded a bursary, consisting of the TVEMF Chair (Victoria Helby) and Treasurer (Ivan Viehoff), Jane Rothery who used to be Administrator of the Beauchamp course, and David Allinson who is one of the Musical Directors of the course.
The fund receives donations from several sources. These include contributions made around the time of the David Fletcher Celebration Workshop in 2023, direct donations from Beauchamp course participants, and TVEMF workshop fees that attendees choose to donate instead of receiving a refund. The fund also benefits from instrument sales and profits from the Beauchamp course's informal bar.
Students Rates
We would love to welcome students to join us. The student rate is £449, but financial help may be available via our bursary fund.
